Website design and development
Website Development in Los Angeles
Websites people want to play with. Yours to keep.
We design and build custom websites with 3D, motion and things to tap, that still open fast on an old phone. ChatGPT and Google can read every page, and when we’re done, the code, hosting and domain are all in your name.
Twenty-plus clients. Ninety percent of new business by referral.
Built to play with
People remember the website they got to play with.
Most small-business websites work like a brochure: a photo, a paragraph, a phone number. Look at three of them in a row and you won’t remember which was which.
We build pages people want to touch. A product they can spin around, a neighborhood that builds itself as they scroll, a word they can tap to see what it means. Each one gives a visitor a reason to stay for one more screen, and someone still scrolling is someone still deciding whether to call you.
Our 3D game
A rubber duck’s trip to space
A rubber duck boards a rocket in Los Angeles. You steer it past asteroids with the arrow keys or a finger, then fly a tour of the planets, where each one stands for a part of what we do.
Try it yourself (opens in a new tab)Think Like Trixie
A picture book that pops up
The page for Think Like Trixie, our children’s book about how AI works. Scroll and a 3D pop-up book opens in a garden. Further down, tap a word block to read what that AI term means.
Try it yourself3D in the browser
A car you can repaint
Turn it, change the paint, park it in a garage or out at dusk. It’s a live 3D model drawn by your browser, not a video, and it’s the same kind of viewer we’d build for your product.
Try it yourself
Being built for clients right now
A neighborhood that builds itself
For a housing company
On their page for investors, a 3D map of one of their neighborhoods fills in as you scroll: new roofs, then street lights, then a playground, one step at a time, to show how they improve a place.
A front door that opens
For the same housing company
Their page for residents starts inside a home with the front door shut and daylight around its edges. Scroll, and the door swings open onto a tour of the house.
A short quiz that books the first call
For a CPA firm
A few questions, one per screen, that end with a call booked straight onto one of the firm’s founders’ calendars, plus a simple way to send last year’s tax return before the call.
Found by AI
Your next customer might ask ChatGPT, not Google.
Picture someone asking ChatGPT for a good gym nearby, or an accountant who understands rental properties. The assistant reads websites and answers with a few names. It can only name you if it can read you.
And it’s already common: about half of U.S. adults use AI chatbots, and 42% use them to look things up.2
So we build every page for two readers: the person on the phone, and the assistant reading over their shoulder. Tap a term to see what we do about each one.
AEO
Answer engine optimization: writing each page so the first sentence of every section answers a question people really ask. That’s the sentence an assistant can lift and quote with your name on it.*
* Every site we build is made to be read by assistants. Measuring what they say about you, and the ongoing work to change it, is our separate SEO, AEO and GEO service, which starts with an AI visibility report.
Under the hood
All that motion, and it still opens fast on a phone.
3D and animation only help if the page shows up before your customer gives up on it. So underneath the motion, we keep the basics simple and check them every time anything changes. This website is built the same way.
- Every page is built ahead of time and sent as finished HTML, so there’s nothing to wait for when someone opens it on their phone at 11pm.
- Your team can change the words and photos themselves, in a content editor with drafts and a history of every change. A long headline can’t break the layout.*
- Every change is checked automatically in the engines behind Chrome, Safari and Firefox, at phone and desktop sizes, and then on a real phone.
- 3D is kept light enough for a phone to load. Every model on our 3D page is under 5 MB.
* A content editor is quoted as its own integration. There are several good ones, and we’ll recommend the one that fits how your team works.
Yours to keep
No monthly rent on your own website.
A lot of web agencies keep your site on their own account and bill you every month to keep it online. It feels easy until the day you want to leave. Stop paying, and the website you built your business on can go with the plan.
We do it the other way around. The code lives in your own GitHub account. The hosting is an account in your name, and the host bills you directly at its own price, with nothing added by us. Your domain stays where it is. We stay on as your developer for as long as you want us, and if you ever want someone else, you can hand them the keys in a day.
Monthly plans made sense when hosting was hard and every edit needed a developer. Now hosting a fast site costs little, content editors let your team change its own words, and AI tools help any good developer pick up clean, standard code quickly. Rent on a website you can’t take with you doesn’t buy you much anymore.
| What you are comparing | With LA TechSpace | A monthly website plan |
|---|---|---|
| Who owns the code | You do. It lives in your GitHub account. | Often the agency, or a site builder you can’t take with you. |
| Whose hosting account | Yours. The host bills you directly, at its own price. | The agency’s, folded into a monthly fee. |
| If you stop working with us | Nothing changes. The site stays up. | The site can come down when the plan ends. |
| Switching developers | Hand over the keys in a day. | Often means starting over. |
| Small edits | Your team makes them, or we do. | Often a support ticket, inside the monthly plan. |
What clients say
From the people we’ve built for.
Each quote links to the owner’s own site. You’ll find the rest of our clients on our work page.
Couldn't have asked for a better tech team
I had no idea what I was doing when I wanted to build my website. But, when I came across LA TechSpace, I knew I made the right decision. They were understanding of my budget and provided different options that I could afford to still have an awesome landing page. They were also very detail-oriented and kept everything on schedule and even finished everything ahead of schedule. I couldn't have asked for service and am still constantly referring people to work with them.

What sets LA TechSpace apart, in my opinion, is their ability to truly understand their clients' needs and goals. Pricing
Every site is quoted, because no two do the same job.
A five-page site for a tax firm and a gym site with online booking and a 3D tour of the space are different jobs, so there’s no price list. Your quote comes down to a few things, and you’ll see each one in writing.
- How many pages there are, and how much custom motion, 3D and interaction they carry.
- How many other systems the site talks to, like online booking, payments, your CRM or a listings feed.
- Whether you want a content editor, so your team can make changes without us.
- Whether we write the words and find the photos, or you bring your own.
- Ongoing SEO, AEO and GEO work is its own service, quoted separately if you want it.
- Hosting isn’t in the quote. The host bills you directly, at its own price, and we add nothing to it.
Next step
Tell us what your site has to do.
Send Nana, our cofounder, a few lines: what your business does, what bugs you about the site you have, and anything you’ve seen on another website and loved. A link to a site you like helps a lot. You’ll get back a written quote with the scope, the price, the timeline and the parts you could skip for now.
You don’t commit to anything until you’ve read the quote. And we’ll point you to whatever helps most, even if it’s smaller than what you came in for.
Questions
What owners ask us first.
- Do I own my website when it’s finished?
- Yes. The code lives in a GitHub account you own, the hosting is an account in your name, and your domain stays wherever you keep it. LA TechSpace sets it all up and can stay on as your developer, but nothing about the site depends on us.
- How much does a custom website cost?
- It depends on how much custom design and motion the site has, and how many other systems it connects to, like booking, payments, a CRM or a content editor. There’s no price list. You get a written quote with the scope, the price and the timeline before you commit to anything.
- Do I have to pay you every month?
- No. There’s no monthly fee to LA TechSpace to keep your site online. Your hosting provider bills you directly, at its own price. If you’d like ongoing help after launch, we agree on that with you up front.
- Will my site show up in ChatGPT and Google?
- Every page is built so search engines and AI assistants can read it: an answer in each section’s first sentence, structured data that matches the page, and every word in the HTML when it loads. Whether they mention you also depends on what the rest of the web says about you. That’s our separate SEO, AEO and GEO service, which starts with an AI visibility report.
- Will 3D and animation slow my website down?
- Not when it’s built for a phone first. Pages are sent as finished HTML, so the words appear straight away, and 3D models are kept small enough for a phone to load. Every model on our 3D page is under 5 MB.
- Can I update the site myself?
- Yes, if your site has a content editor. It’s quoted as its own integration, and we’ll recommend the one that fits how your team works. With one, you can update a headline or swap a photo and check it before it goes live, and an empty field or a long headline can’t break the layout.
- What can my website connect to?
- Most systems that offer an API: booking calendars, payment providers, CRMs, content editors, property listing feeds and email tools. Each connection is part of the quote, so you see what each one adds before anything is built.
- What is this website built with?
- Next.js for the pages, Payload for the content editor, and three.js for the 3D. We picked Payload after trying two editors with real content.
- Do you work with businesses outside Los Angeles?
- Yes. We work with businesses across the US, but we’re from here, and most of our clients are a short drive away. If you’d like to meet in person, just say so.
