Software Consulting and Custom Software in Los Angeles

Software built around the way your business runs.

We design and build custom software and SaaS products. That has meant the locker system on a vending truck, a picture book whose pencil drawings move, and a 3D game you can play in your browser.

Our own builds

Two things we built for ourselves, which you can try now.

The quickest way to judge a software team is to use something it made. Both of these run in the browser you’re holding, on a phone or a laptop, with nothing to install.

  • Think Like Trixie

A picture book whose drawings move

Ophelia Chiu drew our children’s book in pencil. A script cuts each drawing into layers, and the page moves them like a flip book when you tap it, with no video. The same page opens with a 3D pop-up book.

  • Our 3D game

A rubber duck’s trip to space

Four stages, from the docks in Los Angeles to an orbit past Earth and Saturn. You steer the rocket past asteroids with the arrow keys or a finger, then tour a solar system your browser draws live.

Client work

Smart lockers for an electric vending truck.

BIB Technologies builds AUTOMATO, an electric vending truck with 40 smart locker shelves. We built its locker software and barcode system. A customer orders online and gets a code, scans it at the truck, and the locker holding their order opens. Stock counts come from BIB’s Shopify store and update as items sell.

You can see the truck on BIB’s own website, evmobilestore.com, which we also built.

How it starts

A conversation first, then a plan you can read.

Every project starts with you telling us what the software has to do, and us asking questions until we understand the job. Then we write down what we’d build and what it would cost, before any of it is built.

If an app you can already buy does the job, we’ll tell you, even when that means there’s nothing for us to build. Clients remember that, and it’s a big part of why most of our work comes from referrals.

Next step

Tell us what the software has to do.

Send Nana, our cofounder, a few lines: what your business does, the job you want software to take on, and what you use for it now. You’ll get back a written plan with the scope, the price, the timeline and the parts you could skip for now.

You don’t commit to anything until you’ve read the plan.

Questions

What people ask us first.

What kind of software does LA TechSpace build?
Custom software and SaaS products for businesses with a job no off-the-shelf app does well. Our work includes the locker software and barcode system on BIB Technologies’ AUTOMATO vending truck, a 3D game that runs in the browser, and a picture book whose pencil drawings move on screen.
How much does custom software cost?
It depends on what the software has to do and how many other systems it connects to. There’s no price list. LA TechSpace sends a written plan with the scope, the price and the timeline before you commit to anything.
Do you work with businesses outside Los Angeles?
Yes. We work with businesses across the US, but we’re from here, and most of our clients are a short drive away. If you’d like to meet in person, just say so.

Your turn

Is there a job no app does quite right?

Tell Nana what it is and what you use for it now. She’ll tell you whether it needs custom software, and what building it would take.

She replies to everything herself. Usually same day.
